The Steno gorge is located near the village of Athamania Trikala next to Gardiki in Aspropotamos. An area with many beauties no matter what season you visit.
To find yourself in the gorge, follow the path for 30 minutes from the church of the Agioi Apostolos to the bed and from there in an hour and a half through the bed and against the current you will reach the Steno gorge.
There you will find three wonderful waterfalls from the sources of Kakarditsa and Kriakoura.
The geological formations from the sedimentary rocks left and right will make you wonder where you are. There are also natural swimming pools for the more adventurous. The best time to cross it is between July and August.
Be careful if you visit! When it rains at altitude, water comes down into the gorge. It is also necessary if you visit it to wear a helmet.
