The gorge is located in Thessalian Agrafa, in the municipality of Argithea, between the villages of Petroto and Kali Komi. It leads to the western edges from the Verousia Mountains. The entrance is at the point where the road crosses it at an altitude of 600 meters. After the characteristic signpost we enter a path for 300 meters, where the existence of terraces suggest human presence in earlier times. Then we drop into the bed, where boulders, logs and vegetation make it somewhat difficult to move. Soon, however, the bare gully turns into an impressive cavernous gully about 400 metres long. The bed narrows, and the walls are lined with a wealth of beautifully coloured cave deposits. At the same time, the great height of the walls leaves no room for escape. The amount of water is small in summer and no technical means are needed to cross the bed, only a helmet. At the end we see a thin slit of light in the distance and at the exit we see the Acheloos valley in one of its most beautiful parts. The time it will take us to get here is in the region of 50 minutes. The route here.
