Longa is a village in the municipality Kalampaka built in Antichasia, at 970 meters altitude. It is located 50 km away from Trikala and 32 from Kalambaka. Its inhabitants engaged in agriculture, with a known product of village beans, farming and logging. Near Longa, at an altitude of 1,100, is the artificial lake.
16 km away from Trikala and heading to Meteora turn right at the traffic lights at the sign that says to Theopetra. Theopetra is a small village and it is know from the famous Theopetra Cave. After Koniskos you will find that the road splits, follow the road right towards Gerakari below and follow the sign to Longa. Also there is a new road from Verdikousa to Longa.
The artificial lake Loggas is located outside the village at only 3 km. 1,100 meters above sea level. Created for water supply and irrigation of settlements in the area. In winter there are gathered many hunters. The summer is a fishing contest. May Day crowds flock from all surrounding villages, and at Clean Monday too. Next to the dam it’s a wooden house (the “tourist kiosk”). Around there are several wooden tables with wooden benches for those who want to make picnics. Those who love to hike or mountain bike, a good idea is to make the tour of the lake, 2 km long route. (About half an hour walk loose and clearly much less cycling).
