Xerolakas park is a wonderful recreation area, a beautiful park with lots of greenery. Here you can do activities such as hiking and picnicking. In the area there are wooden tables and stone stoves for cooking, a tap with cold water and also a playground (in bad condition) for the children.
The river flows below, which is also easily accessible.
The Xerolaka park in Olympos is a good suggestion for a day trip in the coolness and the sounds of nature. You can also combine it with a visit to Leptokarya beach which is 30 minutes drive away.
How to get there
The park is located 5 kilometers from the village of Karya on Mount Olympus. To find Xerolakas park if you are in Larissa follow the road to Ampelona – Rodia – Sykaminea and Karya. It is about 60 minutes drive from Larissa. If you are on the beaches of Pieria, such as Platamonas Skotina and Leptokarya, follow the road to Ano Leptokarya, going up towards the mountain. Great routes both, whichever you choose!
