The exact terminology of the word “Canyoning” in Greek is traversing canyons and includes other sports like swimming, hiking and climbing. On the eastern side of Pelion there are five canyons. Those are the following: canyon of Mylopotamos, canyon of Fakistras , canyon of Ntamouchari and further north the Great Galanorema and the canyon Kalokairino with a waterfall 160 meters high.
Canyon of Mylopotamos
The descent lasts approximately 3 hours and can anyone dare to do it, even the beginners with a basic fitness! The most suitable time to visit is from January to May because during the summer months it is dry. But in spring and after heavy rainfalls turns into torrent!
Canyon of Fakistra
It is a unique and beautiful canyon that starts from Tsagarada and ends at the equally beautiful beach of Fakistra. The specific canyon is suitable for all, beginners and non. Its descent lasts three hours and you can visit all year round!
Canyon of Damouhari
This canyon is located between Mouresi and Ntamouhari villages. You access it from the village Mouresi and the descent ends on the beach of Ntamouhari in about 3 hours. Water is running through it only in the winter.
Canyon of Great Galanorema
It is located in Zagora with a waterfall 90 meters high. From the middle until the end of it, we come across with small lakes and slides which make this canyon one of the most playful. The duration of canyoning lasts about 4 hours.
Located in the North Pelion between two beautiful villages of Pelion, Zagora and Puri. Divided in two parts, the part of the Great Rock has the tallest waterfall in the canyon with a height of 160 meters and overlooking Pelion and the Aegean Sea.

Visit the beaches of east Pelion and the ski resort Agriolefkes, walk at the stone paths, explore the nature and taste the local cuisine such as spetzofai.
